It gives Rusty’s opinion of the Saturday night race this weekend at The Bristol Speedway in Bristol Tennessee Saturday night,August 20, 2016. The track at Bristol is another of the NASCAR legendary tracks on the circuit. It is a track with lots of history in Stock Car racing and it is called the Fastest Half Mile in the
World. Because it is a short track and a particular challenge for the drivers, it does make for interesting and intense racing. Like any other NASCAR Cup race, there are a lot of drivers to choose from to pick as a winner, even more than there used to be. This particular one is another special one because it is Tony Stewart’s last one, he is retiring at the end of this year and Jeff Gordon is once again filling in for the recovering Dale Earnhardt Jr. As is always the case, consistent lap times, getting in and out of the pits with no problems or penalties and a strategy that maintains good track position throughout the day will once again result in sitting in Victory Lane. A track like this one at Bristol always seems to make for some great racing right down to the Checkered Flag if for no other reason than anything can happen. As a general rule, it is a race where there is always the chance of a Big surprise and a lot of drama right down to the drop of the checkered flag. If it becomes a fuel mileage race which is quite likely although not a given, look out for the unexpected.
